Welcome to the Department of Basic Dental Sciences

This department has been established in 2023 along with the establishment of the faculty. Our department is considered as the cornerstone in the educational process of basic dental sciences in the program. We are responsible for overseeing undergraduate education in basic medical sciences including general anatomy, anatomy of head and neck, oral anatomy and histology, general and oral physiology. In addition to teaching courses related to basic dental sciences including, oral biology, oral pathology and dental materials.

The faculty involves highly-qualified professors graduated from prestigious universities. We aim at providing our students with high-standard learning experience through theoretical and practical integrated lectures during their pre-clinical years.  The practical training will be conducted in a modern teaching facilities within the faculty. The anatomy lab is provided with a combination of embalmed and plastinated bodies, or actual plastics, while the practical part of the oral histology and pathology courses is computer-based, using microscopes to visualize high-resolution images of pre-prepared samples.
