Accreditation of bachelor of CIS

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program complies with the national higher education accreditation and quality assurance standards issued by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) in Jordan.

These standards include both the General Accreditation Standards and the Special Accreditation Standards for academic programs. The General Standards address institutional requirements such as governance, quality assurance systems, human resources, student services, and physical and technological infrastructure. The Special Standards define program-level requirements, including curriculum structure, credit hours, learning outcomes, assessment processes, faculty qualifications, and the computing laboratories and educational resources required to support information systems education.

The program is designed, implemented, assessed, and continuously improved in accordance with these standards to ensure compliance with national quality requirements while maintaining academic excellence and responding to the evolving needs of the information systems profession.

The qualification has also been aligned and formally placed within the Jordan National Qualifications Framework (JNQF), ensuring that its qualification level, learning outcomes, and graduate competencies are consistent with the national qualification descriptors and framework requirements.

In addition, the program aligns with the academic policies and quality assurance framework of The Hashemite University and incorporates internationally recognized best practices in information systems education. The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program has been accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET since 2019, demonstrating sustained compliance with internationally recognized standards for computing education. The program maintains a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement through ongoing assessment and evaluation processes, ensuring that its curriculum remains current and that its graduates are well prepared to meet the needs of employers, pursue professional development, and continue with postgraduate studies.
