Introduction to basic data communication concepts and digital/analog data transmission; overview of computer communication architecture models, including the open systems interconnection (OSI) model, and the TCP/IP model; industrial network protocols (SCADA/fieldbus protocols); and data interfaces such as USB, RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet; wireless network standards, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and ZigBee.
