This course aims at providing students with the basic knowledge regarding descriptive and inferential statistical procedures that are used in psychological and educational studies. It presents measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, measures of location, normal distribution, and correlation coefficients. In addition, it aims to introduce students to the concept of research hypotheses (null and alternative hypotheses), and to different statistical analyses that are used in data analysis, such as: Z-test, t-test for independent and dependent samples, one way analysis of variance, some nonparametric statistics (such as Mann-Whitney, Wilcoxon test, etc.), two-way analysis of variance, simple and multiple regression analysis, and an introduction to multivariate analysis of variance. Students will be trained to do these analyses using SPSS. |
