The Faculty of Educational Sciences (FEDS) was established at the Hashemite University in 1995, and since then, it has evolved over the past three decades to include three academic departments, including sixteen (16) academic programs (BA = 3; Vocational and higher diploma = 4; Master = 9) mostly at graduate level, distributed in various educational disciplines (Curriculum and Teaching, Educational Foundations and Administration, Educational Psychology and Psychological Counseling). The development of these programs has been accompanied by a large increase in the number of faculty members in the faculty, representing the elite of science, knowledge and education, serving the generations, the nation and humanity in different educational disciplines. VISION: The Faculty of Educational Sciences (FEDS) will be a world leader in the integration of (a) teaching and learning, (b) advancement of the knowledge base through research and scholarship, and (c) leadership in service and outreach. Further, the College will be a world leader in preparing professionals who provide leadership and exemplary educational and related services to improve the lives of individuals in a changing and complex global society. MISSION: The HU University’s long history of integrating liberal education in the arts and sciences with preparation for life and livelihood are at the center of the College’s mission. In Faculty of Educational Sciences (EDS), we understand that narrow career preparation results in one thing: narrowness of mind. In today’s complex world, the best education is one that prepares students for the unexpected by fostering creativity, flexibility, curiosity and innovation. This requires an education that is grounded in the traditions of liberal education and responsive to the challenges of our twenty-first century world. The FEDS faculty is committed to helping students learn how to meet the challenges of our times, locally and globally, by creating opportunities inside and outside the classroom to better prepare students for responsible citizenship. Today, the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FEDS) seeks to achieve an advanced position among its equivalents of universities at the local, regional and international levels by attracting distinguished professors and developing diverse academic programs that meet the needs of the local, national and international markets, as well as through the use of modern technology in the management of the college, and in the teaching of many of the courses, and with the adoption of quality control standards, and provide the appropriate academic atmosphere to ensure excellence and development.
