The subsequent instructions pertain to oral and poster presentations, and it is kindly requested that all presenters adhere to them while submitting abstracts.

Abstracts for speakers and oral presenters should be submitted via this Registration Form by Feb 29, 2024.

Abstract criteria (for speakers and poster presenters):

  • Abstract written clearly and concisely.
  • The title clearly describes the abstract.
  • A clear purpose is stated.
  • Relevance to the conference theme.
  • Context within the current evidence base presented.
  • Method/approach applied appropriately to aims.
  • Evaluation/analysis and results appropriately applied and interpreted.
  • Strengths and weaknesses of work highlighted.
  • Suggestions for further work made of interest to an internationally diverse audience.

An example of a typical abstract structure:

Title: This should be clear and concise, eye-catching and punchy.

Background: This section should provide context for the subsequent work using critical background literature only.

Aims/purpose: This abstract aims to provide readers with an overview of the research and its expected outcomes.

Methods: Highlighted here are the critical details regarding the methods used/proposed for the study, including the sample of participants involved, equipment and procedures, and the timescale during which the study was carried out. IRB reference number: xx/xx/xxxx.

Results: This section usually highlights the essential findings. Providing statistical evidence is recommended, but presenting an extensive list of mean values and corresponding p-values should be avoided. Be selective in choosing the results to showcase and ensure they align with the overall message conveyed in the abstract.

Conclusion: This section summarizes the abstract, conveys the most important interpretation of the results, and makes relevant suggestions for further work in the field.
