The Department of Basic Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, The Hashemite University, was established for the purpose of teaching basic medical courses to students of scientific colleges such as the College of Applied Medical Sciences and the College of Nursing and Engineering.
The Department delivers multiple courses, including human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, medical microbiology, pathology and dietetics.
Highly qualified faculty members have been appointed to teach the various courses offered by the department, as well as teaching theoretical and practical courses with the aim of achieving an integrative educational process.
The department covers 10 different subjects, with a total of 19 credit hours.

Occupational therapy is accredited by World Federation of Occupational Therapy till 2024.
