The Faculty’s Public Safety Committee held a coordination meeting with faculty members and laboratory supervisors to raise awareness about general safety requirements in teaching and research laboratories. The meeting also covered proper methods for the safe storage of chemicals, as well as procedures for segregating and preparing chemicals for disposal in accordance with approved protocols.

Dr. Shorouq Abu Khamees, Chair of the Public Safety Committee, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the adopted procedures and mandatory forms that laboratory personnel, including students and researchers, are expected to review and adhere to.

Attendees discussed ways to implement best safety practices for staff and students, and reviewed risk analysis mechanisms associated with laboratory experiments to ensure a safe educational and research environment.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Dr. Saja Hamed, Dean of the College, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in enforcing the approved guidelines and procedures to ensure everyone's safety. She also affirmed that the Public Safety Committee will conduct regular inspection tours of the college's teaching and research laboratories, as well as storage areas, to monitor compliance and maintain a secure environment for all personnel and students.
