About Us

In its effort to enhance the role of women in Jordan’s social, political and economic spheres, the Hashemite University established the Center for women’s studies in the Community (CWSC) which started its activities in January 7th, 2018.

CWSC was founded as part of the Hashemite University commitment to support national efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); namely Goal 5 (Gender Equality).

The manner of thinking and the behavioral steps within the Hashemite University and the external environment reflect its general policy towards women and girls. It is a policy of diversity, empowerment, and inclusion. This policy is based on principles of equity and gender equality. This policy and these principles are also the foundations of the Center for Women’s Studies in the Community.

We envision the Hashemite University where women and girls are empowered and where gender equality is the norm. Our mission is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
