The center was established in 1997 including both computer center and the e-learning center which was named as Information, communication, and e-learning technology center. Its aim was to computerize all the systems of the university, prepare plans to develop all the systems , and to provide the university with an effective web. 
The center has achieved the computerization of all the systems of the university by its own effort such as the systems of admission and registration , financial system, salaries , supplies , employees affairs , tendering , maintenance , the academic staff , and portals. In addition, the center prepared the infrastructure needed and all the e- services aiming at having a campus free of paper work.
