  • IEEE HU Student Branch

 

The IEEE HU Student Branch, affiliated with Hashemite University, is one of the most active and esteemed student branches in Jordan. It continuously strives to provide quality and diverse activities serving the student community, such as workshops, panel discussions, conferences, and more. Established in 2002, the branch encompasses four technical societies and one professional society, all aiming to achieve the same goal and vision as the parent organization: "Advancing Technology for Humanity."

 

The volunteers of the branch are always focused on realizing this vision through organizing various events and activities. Their efforts have led the branch to win the Outstanding Student Branch Award for the Eighth Region (Middle East, Europe, and Africa) eight times, with the latest being in 2023. Within the branch, there is also a professional unit, the Educational Activities unit, which focuses on conducting various activities aimed at teaching students diverse skills, including workforce skills.

The Women in Engineering (WIE) group is one of the largest international professional organizations dedicated to encouraging and inspiring women in engineering and sciences worldwide. A student group from this organization was established at Hashemite University in 2012, making it the first student group of its kind there.

The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is the world's largest international society for engineers in the fields of medicine and biology. It aims to develop and apply engineering concepts in the fields of medicine, life sciences, and health to provide effective solutions to medical sector challenges. A student unit of this society was established at Hashemite University in 2013 as the first technical unit of its kind in Jordan.
