Active Participation of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Free Medical Day in Al-Hashemia Municipality

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Hashemite University actively participated in the Free Medical Day held in Al-Hashimiyah Municipality, in collaboration with the university’s health sciences faculties, the Zarqa Health Directorate, and Al-Hashimiyah Municipality, along with the participation of several private sector entities.

Dar Al Dawa company generously supported the event by donating a large quantity of free medications, which had a significant impact on the success of the initiative and its outreach to the local community.

During the event, students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and fifth-year students enrolled in the Community Pharmacy track, under the supervision of faculty members, provided specialized pharmaceutical consultations to patients. They also offered guidance on the correct use of asthma medications, including proper inhaler techniques. Additionally, students helped dispense the donated medications and offered essential instructions to patients in coordination with participating physicians, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided.

The participation was coordinated by Dr. Tahani Al-Wudyan, with supervision and consultation provided by Dr. Inaam Al-Momani, Dr. Areen Al-Shwayat, Dr. Suhad Bani Milhem, Pharmacist Rafeef Ashwa, and Dr. Shurooq Abu Khamees.

Pharmacy Students Participate in the 8th Free Medical Day to Promote Community Service

Students enrolled in the "Advanced Administrative Training" course from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences took part in the 8th Free Medical Day, organized by Al-Ettefaq International Schools Academy – Shafa Badran/Amman, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in collaboration with the Capital Health Directorate, under the supervision of Dr. Muhannad Odeh, course instructor.

This participation aimed to provide free health and awareness services to the local community, with the support of a qualified team of medical and healthcare professionals. The event also served as a practical opportunity for students to enhance their field skills within the academic program, in collaboration with training partners from pharmaceutical warehouses and companies.

The students received widespread praise from attendees for their professionalism and active engagement, reflecting the importance of student involvement in community activities and the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical experience. This contributes to improving their readiness for the labor market and reinforcing their active role in serving society.

At the end of the event, Eng. Ali Ahmad Abu Fara, Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Directors, honored the participating organizations and presented appreciation plaques to those who contributed to the success of this community-focused medical initiative.
