The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Hashemite University participated in the Scientific Day of the Faculty of Nursing through a distinguished academic and awareness-based contribution that reflected interdisciplinary collaboration among health faculties and the Faculty’s role in promoting health awareness and community service.

The participation included a scientific lecture delivered by Dr. Inaam Al-Momani entitled:

“Detecting Psychiatric Side Effects of Common Medications”

The lecture highlighted the unexpected psychological effects of some non-psychiatric medications, including depression and suicidal thoughts. It emphasized the importance of healthcare professionals’ vigilance in identifying warning signs among patients and enhancing patient safety through continuous monitoring and assessment.

Fourth-year students from the Faculty also participated in an awareness initiative on hypertension, which included an educational booth to explain risk factors and prevention strategies, in addition to providing blood pressure measurement services and health counselling to visitors.

This participation underscores the important role of pharmacy in promoting health education, disease prevention, and interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professions, contributing to improved healthcare quality and community well-being.
