Graduates of the ninth cohort of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Hashemite University took the professional oath, marking their graduation and the beginning of their professional journey in the fields of pharmacy and healthcare.
The oath ceremony reflected the Faculty’s mission to prepare pharmacists who are scientifically, professionally, and ethically qualified, and capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Mohammad Al-Tamimi, Vice President of the University, Professor Suja Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Ayman Aleimat, Dean of Student Affairs, members of the Faculty’s academic and administrative staff, and approximately 250 male and female graduates.
In his remarks, Professor Al-Tamimi conveyed the congratulations of Professor Khaled Al-Hiyari, President of The Hashemite University, to the graduates and their families. He emphasized that this day represents a significant milestone in the students’ lives after years of dedication, hard work, and academic achievement, as they move into a new stage of professional responsibility and service in a profession closely connected to human health and safety.
He noted that the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences is distinguished in pharmaceutical education through its advanced and unique study plans, diverse practical training programs, prestigious ACPE international accreditation, and highly qualified faculty members who have contributed to preparing graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies needed for excellence and competitiveness.
Professor Al-Tamimi added that the graduates are entering a new phase in their professional journey at a time when the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors are witnessing rapid scientific and technological developments. This requires them to continue learning, pursue ongoing professional development, and acquire modern knowledge and skills that enable them to serve their communities with competence and dedication.
Professor Suja Hamed, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that the professional oath represents an ethical covenant and a pledge of integrity and responsibility toward human health and safety. She stated that the graduates are beginning a professional path filled with both challenges and opportunities, requiring them to uphold knowledge, hard work, and professional ethics as essential pillars of success and excellence.
Professor Hamed also highlighted the important responsibility pharmacists hold in protecting human health through science and knowledge, confronting misinformation, and promoting evidence-based health awareness. She encouraged the graduates to be active members of healthcare teams, good listeners to patients, skilled in their practice, and faithful to their professional mission. She also noted that the graduation celebration coincides with the Kingdom’s 80th Independence Day celebrations, reinforcing the values of belonging, loyalty, and service to the nation.
The graduates recited the professional oath, affirming their commitment to the noble mission and ethics of pharmacy, and to the values of honesty, integrity, and dedication in professional practice. They pledged to prepare and dispense medicines in accordance with pharmaceutical principles and applicable laws, while preserving the values and ethics of the profession.
The ceremony program, organized under the supervision of Dr. Dana Al-Atoum, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, included artistic performances by the University Choir at the Deanship of Student Affairs, reflecting the spirit of the occasion and the joy of achievement and graduation. The program also included a graduates’ speech and a poem expressing the students’ feelings and future aspirations.
The ceremony also featured a documentary film showcasing the students’ academic journey since joining the University, including scientific courses, practical training, and diverse learning experiences that contributed to shaping their professional identities, future vision, and aspirations to serve the healthcare sector and the community.
