Upon the kind invitation of the Algerian Federation of Pharmacy, Prof. Saja Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Hashemite University, participated in the 9th Congress of the Federation, which coincided with the official launch of the Algerian Society of Cosmetic Science.

During the congress, Dr. Hamed delivered a scientific lecture titled:
Global Regulatory Oversight of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Products,
which addressed the global regulatory frameworks governing cosmetic and aesthetic products, and discussed the challenges related to oversight and marketing claims.

She also conducted a professional training workshop titled:
Cosmetic Labeling Explained: How to Read and Decode Product Claims,
targeting pharmacists, professionals in the cosmetic industry, and pharmacy students, particularly master’s students in Cosmetic Science at the University of Algiers. The workshop focused on how to scientifically and regulatory interpret product labels and claims.

Additionally, Dr. Hamed took part in a roundtable discussion organized by the Federation’s President, alongside representatives from health ministries and regulatory authorities in Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania, and Jordan, as well as executives from pharmaceutical companies. She presented Jordan’s unique experience in the registration of value-added pharmaceuticals through the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, highlighting potential opportunities for knowledge exchange and regional collaboration.
