The Hashemite University and Al-Ram Pharmaceutical Industries Company signed a cooperation agreement on Monday, January 14, 2025. The agreement aims to develop education and training in pharmaceutical sciences and enhance scientific research in line with labor market needs and advancements in the pharmaceutical industry.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the university president, Professor Dr. Khaled Hisham Al-Hayari, by Professor Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Teen, Vice President for Scientific Faculties Affairs, and Dr. Wasim Al-Najmi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ram Pharmaceutical Industries Company. The signing was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Dr. Saja Hamed, along with several colleagues from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Al-Ram Company, including Dr. Alaa Abu Al-Heijaa, Director of the Pharmaceutical Registration Department and Head of Pharmacovigilance, and Dr. Ashraf Khraisat, Technical Director.
The agreement encompasses several key areas, including providing practical training opportunities for pharmacy students and graduates through specialized training programs, collaborating to develop curricula to meet industrial sector requirements, and organizing joint workshops and scientific seminars to enhance knowledge of the latest developments in the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, the agreement includes cooperation in implementing applied research projects aimed at supporting the national pharmaceutical industry and offering innovative solutions to its challenges.
Professor Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Teen emphasized that the Hashemite University strives to strengthen its partnerships with the industrial sector to benefit students by providing them with practical training and qualifications. He noted that this agreement is an important step toward linking academic and industrial sectors to ensure students are equipped with the necessary practical skills.
Dr. Wasim Al-Najmi expressed pride in this partnership, highlighting that cooperation with the Hashemite University reflects the company's commitment to developing pharmaceutical education and supporting national talent. He pointed out that the agreement opens broad horizons for future collaboration.
The event concluded with a field tour of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Al-Ram's delegation. They were introduced to the college's facilities and modern equipment and discussed ways to enhance collaboration to achieve the agreement's objectives. The delegation expressed admiration for the college's facilities and the curriculum, which includes specialized tracks, one of which focuses on industrial and cosmetic pharmacy.
