Within the initiatives taken by  the Hashemite University to promote its academic presence, the Vice President of the University, Prof. Sultan Al-Maani, accompanied by a team from the Deanship of Academic Development and International Outreach, represented by the Dean, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Smadi, Assistant Dean Dr. Raed Al-Athamneh, and Mr. Jaafar Al-Mousa, Head of the International Projects and Agreements Division, participated in the introductory workshop related to the academic movement between Jordanian universities and universities of the European Union for students and members of the faculty and administrative staff within the (Erasmus+) program. The workshop was held at Princess Sumaya University for Technology on Wednesday, 11/23/2022, at the invitation of the Erasmus+ National Office. During the workshop, The Hashemite University status was reviewed in terms of statistics on the number of students who benefited from the exchange program with European universities for the last five years, and the Hashemite University statistics were compared with local universities in this regard.

 

The workshop included two main sessions.During the first session, several lectures were given by professors covering several topics, of which the opportunities and conditions for exchange between Jordanian university students with the European universities within the Erasmus+ program were discussed. Moreover, the exchange opportunities for the disadvantaged students in particular were a main area of discussion. The Vice President of the Hashemite University, Prof. Sultan Al-Ma’ani, chaired the second session of the workshop under which the session covered topics related to the foundations, criteria and conditions related to international projects and their role in the renaissance of Jordanian universities and the promotion of the concept of sustainable development within the Erasmus+ program.
