  • We are committed to excellence in medical education and providing mentorship with the goals of providing a solid foundation in the care of women and developing the next generation of leaders in women's health.

 

Educational Objectives

  • 8-week rotations in both year 5 and 6
  • Syllabus and logbook: focus on the health care of women during the reproductive and post-reproductive years. The course emphasizes care of the pregnant woman, normal labour and delivery, common obstetric and gynaecologic problems, preventive care, screening for and treatment of gynaecologic malignancies, as well as family planning and sexuality.
  • Our relationships with several medical groups (MOH, medical services), allow students the opportunity for a varied and well-rounded educational experience.
  • At the conclusion of each rotation, the medical students will be assessed for competencies as per syllabus and logbook.

 

Rotations

  • 4 groups of year 5 medical students per annum; 60-70 students per group divided into 8 subgroups
  • 4 groups of year 6 medical students per annum; 60-70 students per group divided into 6 subgroups
  • Medical students are assigned to 6 hospitals for their clinical experience:
  • Prince Hamza Hospital (PHH), Zarqa Hospital, Bashir Hospital, Mafraq Maternity and children Hospital, Royal Medical Services: Hashem and Queen Alia (QA)
  • Regular meetings with the teaching colleagues at the different hospitals to discuss syllabus and feedback
