Conferences and seminars:

 

The Accounting Department at the Hashemite University during the previous period and since the beginning of the academic year 2019/2020 contributed to holding, organizing, participating and attending several conferences, seminars, workshops and events aiming at the educational system and improving the quality of higher and professional education and ensuring its quality and keeping pace with labor developments of the accounting profession and its branches to achieve the desired quality in its outputs to support The local, regional and international market with high efficiencies that can stimulate motivation and give it weight, appreciation and respect.

Among those conferences, seminars, workshops and events held during the past year are the following:

  • Participation in the "Ninth Conference for Scientific Research in Jordan" under the auspices of Professor Dr. Adnan Badran Al-Afkham, former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Jordan, and His Excellency Dr. Reda Al-Khawaldeh, President of the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship and Creativity, with the participation of scientists and researchers from inside and outside Jordan. The conference dealt with important issues and files related to the national economy in light of contemporary changes.

 

Participating in organizing a scientific symposium under the title "The Jordanian Economy, Reality, Challenges, and the Role of the Central Bank of Jordan in Facing These Challenges", which was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kayed Abu Safeya, Vice President of the Hashemite University, and in the presence of the respected Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Wasfi Rawabdeh. His Excellency Dr. Nidal Al-Azzam, Executive Director of the Studies and Research Department at the Central Bank of Jordan, was hosted in which he reviewed, with statistics and facts, the most important problems facing the Jordanian economy and ways to confront them.

 

Participation in organizing a symposium entitled “Knowledge Is Great But Attitude IS Greater” with the support of the President of the Hashemite University, Dr. Kamal Bani Hani Al-Akram, and under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Wasfi Al-Rawabdeh. Dr. Muhammad Kayali, Director of the MK Group Academy and Training Center. This symposium aimed at enhancing the success behavior of students and helping them to acquire knowledge and develop a successful behavior.

 

The department organized a scientific symposium and lecture entitled “The Applied Dimension of the Deposits Department in the Islamic Bank and Its Compliance with the Theoretical Literature Written on this Subject” was presented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Jagal, as this symposium aims to bridge the gap between the theoretical literature that talked about the nature and mechanism The work of the deposits department in Islamic banks and the actual applied reality in force in the deposits section in Islamic banks.


Participation in a symposium and lecture entitled “Jordanian Universities Ranking a Way for Global Competitiveness,” which was supervised by the Jordanian Association for Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and presented by Prof. Dr. Zaid Al-Bashaira, Assistant Chairman of the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation Commission for Quality Affairs.


Second: Workshops

 The department, under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and in coordination with the British Association of Certified Public Accountants ACCA, held a workshop on two main axes:

 1. The possibility of adopting the accounting program according to ACCA requirements and obtaining qualification and membership

. 2. Professional certificates issued by the ACCA Board, which are considered professional certificates worldwide, which enable students who obtain them to compete in the local, regional and international labor market.

The department organized and coordinated with the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants by holding a course and workshop entitled "Auditing Accounts and Working Paper Files", which was managed by Mr. Munir Al-Qawasmi and Mr. Ahmed Dabdoub in the Society's building.

The top students in the Accounting Department at the Hashemite University received (10) training scholarships for the year 2019 to obtain the International Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certificate provided by the American Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and also by HOCK International and Sarh Foundation Jordan Jordan. Each grant of these grants amounts to (2000) US dollars, including membership for 3 years and fees for the CMA exams. The scholarships were awarded to the students through a ceremony held at the Rotana Hotel, organized by the Jordanian Sarh Al-Juman Foundation, which was shared by Mr. Rishi Malhotra, representative of the American Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Mr. Ammar Al-Khayyat, President of the Jordanian Management Accountants Association (JAMA), and Mr. Imran Al-Talawi, President of the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants (JCPA). And Mr. Ahmad Al-Qawasmi is the President of the IIAJ.

 

Third: the activities

 

On 10/14/2019, the department participated through its elite students from the accounting, accounting and commercial law disciplines in the KPMG Jordan Accounting Excellence Competition 2019, competing with their counterparts from accounting students from 21 other Jordanian universities.

 

On 10/15/2019, the Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Walid Masadeh, received a certificate of thanks from the American embassy due to the efforts made to establish activities and events that enrich the students' scientific journey.

 

On 11/17/2019, the department received a delegation from Southampton University at the Al Karama Auditorium and made offers about studying in Britain and offered some scholarships to study business.

 

On 01/10/2020, the department participated in the opening of the construction laboratory in the College of Engineering.

On 27/01/2020, the department, in partnership with the American Pillar, held a session on career counseling and study in the United States of America. The session was chaired by the American expert in professional consulting, Mr. Tyler Pedersen.
