Learning Outcomes

There are currently no specific learning outcomes for this program by the Higher Education Accreditation Commission, as they currently exist for other bachelor’s programs in the faculty, but the following proposed educational outcomes were developed:

1. Knowing the archaeological periods and their main cultural features, and the distinctive archaeological materials associated with them with distinguishing between different dating methods.

2. Knowledge of tourism profession, and understanding its components, capabilities, and patterns, as well as current global and local issues in tourism and hospitality.

3. Knowing the basic concepts and stages of tourism planning, sustainable tourism development, and tourism marketing.

4. Knowledge of financial and accounting transactions in the tourist facility.

5. Knowledge of the techniques, tools and materials used in surveys and archaeological excavations in terms of site preparation, implementation, documentation, processing, documenting and preserving artifacts, as well as preventive protection methods for sites and artifacts.

6. Distinguishing between archaeological materials in terms of characteristics and diagnosis of their condition.

7. Knowledge of the applied sciences used in dealing with and preserving antiquities.

8. Knowing the basic concepts related to heritage in its various physical and intangible forms, also the aspects related to documenting and interpreting heritage.

9. Knowing the basic stages and changes in the emergence and evolution of museums, as well as the aspects related to marketing museums and the educational process in them.

10. Understanding the management of destinations and heritage sites.

11. Understanding the preventive measures in dealing with museum objects in terms of methods of preservation, display, maintenance, and restoration, as well as the creating the appropriate museum environment and design, knowing the principles of managing museum visitors, and the ethics of museum work.
