The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applications (CSA) at The Hashemite University is a four-year undergraduate program designed to prepare graduates for professional careers in computer science, software development, and related computing fields. The program was established in 2001 and is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Applications within the Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II Faculty of Information Technology.

The program requires the successful completion of 132 credit hours and provides students with a strong foundation in computer science principles, programming, algorithms, data structures, database systems, operating systems, computer networks, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and emerging computing technologies. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience through laboratory work, programming assignments, software development projects, practical training, and a two-semester graduation project.

Students develop competencies in analyzing computing problems, designing and implementing software solutions, applying modern computing tools and techniques, and evaluating computing systems. The program also emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, ethical and professional responsibility, leadership, and lifelong learning. Through its comprehensive curriculum, students acquire the knowledge and practical skills necessary to develop innovative computing solutions that address real-world challenges across a wide range of application domains.
