SMART: Systems of Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics Trends
About the Lab
Systems of Mechatronics, Automation, and Robotics Trends (SMART) Lab at the Hashemite University is fully equipped to conduct research on control and planning, robotics, automated systems, and machine learning. We are especially interested in autonomous systems such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), industrial robots, and semi-autonomous cars that operate in high dynamic environments and with human interaction. Our research aims to create a multi-robotic network that can be used in vital applications such as security, inspection, data collection, and search and rescue. To achieve best performance, we combine robust and adaptive control tools with machine learning and cyber-physical security methods. We also conduct indoor and outdoor experiments using aerial and ground platforms to validate the theoretical solutions.
