The establishment of the Heritage Resources Management Department came in line with the mission of the Queen Rania Faculty of Tourism and Heritage, which was established in 1999/2000 at the Hashemite University. The establishment of the faculty comes within the Hashemite University’s strategy to participate in the preservation of archaeological, heritage and tourism sites located within Zarqa and other Kingdom’s governorates.
The department aims to prepare a trained and qualified cadre of graduates who are able to work in the field of managing tourism and heritage sites, both natural and historical. The department is distinguished for providing intensive courses in the field of museology and the management of museum collections.
The department offers a bachelor's degree in the Cultural Resources Management and Museology, during which students take courses in the integrated management of heritage, tourism and archaeological resources, whether archaeological or natural sites or historical and archaeological collections.
This specialization provides work for graduates in museums, archaeological and tourist sites, or the protection of antiquities.
