Department Head Message

Welcome to the Department of basic dental sciences in the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hashemite University.

Our department provides its services to the students at the faculty by transferring knowledge of basic medical and dental sciences, including general anatomy, histology, and physiology through integrated theoretical and practical lectures to dental students in the first and second years.

Our department includes a group of specialized professors with international certificates and training at a distinguished level, where they share their experience and knowledge with our dental students. In addition to theoretical learning, our students will receive direct practical training in anatomy laboratories using real cadavers, plastinated bodies and plastic models, in histology laboratories using microscopic examination and in physiology laboratories, where basic medical testing skills are taught, such as blood tests, electrocardiogram, electroencephalography, nervous system, as well as basic circulatory and respiratory system tests.
