About Department

The Mechanical Engineering Department at The Hashemite University was established in 1998 and it received its first group of students for the B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1999. Since then the department grew in a very impressive way to establish itself as one of the leading engineering departments in the country. Beside the undergraduate program the department offers Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering\ Energy Systems. Currently, it has 17 faculty members, from a diverse group of world-renowned universities, teaching more than 500 students in modern facilities and laboratories.

The Mechanical Engineering program was accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Mechanical and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.
