Welcome

The Department of Pediatrics includes physicians who are experts in pediatric subspecialties including:
-    Infectious Diseases
-    Respiratory Diseases
-    Gastroenterology
-    Hematology and Oncology
-    Neurology
-    Neonatology
-    Nephrology
-    Cardiology
-    Endocrinology
The diversity of subspecialties enables us to care for inpatients and outpatients, who require specialized care in a tertiary hospital, and the breadth and depth of our expertise gives us the ability to treat children with almost any acute or chronic illness. Our range of services includes the treatment of neonates, infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
While we focus on complex medical problems, we also provide general pediatric care, and our staff cares for patients at Prince Hamzah Teaching Hospital/Amman and Zarqa Governmental Hospital/Zarqa.
Our healthcare practitioners build partnerships with our patients and families, keeping them at the heart of decision-making, supporting and educating them, and encouraging them to participate in care. Whenever possible, the family’s perspectives and choices are recognized as an integral part of planning and providing care, and are always listened to and respected.
Although we provide a simple work, and direct referrals for patients in problems for which we do not have a subspecialist, we are looking to expand our service to include pediatric rheumatology, metabolics, and advanced pediatric genetics by sending more pediatricians to receive training in these fields outside of Jordan, all of which will make us a major referral center for pediatric service in central Jordan.
In addition to patient care, our staff plays a very important academic role in Jordan, by providing didactic and clinical teaching to fifth and sixth year undergraduate students including; local and international students. In addition, our department recently had a pediatric residency program as postgraduate students.
Our faculty are constantly developing new knowledge through research, and using it to understand and treat pediatric diseases
