it is my pleasure to welcome you to The Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine - Hashemite University. The Department of Surgery is dedicated and committed to providing the best and most innovative care in a “student first” environment and serving as the premier educational environment for the training of tomorrow's physicians.
The Department of Surgery comprises seven divisions: General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Urology, Orthopedic Surgery and Anesthesiology. 
In addition to our commitment to provide the finest undergraduate student care, we play a major role in the postgraduate residency programs run by the Ministry of Health, we also place a major emphasis on research which accompany all our divisions and clinical activities.
Currently the Department of Surgery has over 30 full-time faculty members participating in teaching, research, and clinical activities at Prince Hamzah Hospital, the main teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, and more than 50 clinical tutors.
