Increasing attention is being paid to regional economic development to improve the level of income for communities through tourism. The objectives of this course are to providing students with the fundamental concepts of tourism impacts and the areas that tourism linking with, and some methods to evaluate this impact. Students will study types of economic impacts on tourism such as direct, indirect and induced impact. And study the social, cultural, environmental, and political impact of tourism and the role that tourism play in the current time. The course will discuss some assessment impacts methods such as Input-Output method IO, Tourism Satellite Accounts TSA, Travel Cost Method, CVM, and other valuation methods. The students will get chance to study the case of Jordan and explore the economic impact of tourism in Jordan. |
