This course deals with the concept of architecture and the rise of architectural patterns and their impact on cultural, economical and environmental components of any civilization and society. The relation between practical and aesthetic aspects in ancient architecture will be studied during the course. In addition, the diversity of architectural patterns and their relation to place and time through ages will compose a significant part of the course. The development of architecture in Prehistoric, Early historic in Mesopotamia and Egypt through Hellenistic, to Roman will be covered. |
