Nursing and medical management of treatments of various oncologic emergencies, and evidence-based nursing care for each type of cancer with focuses on diagnosing, assessing, intervening in, and evaluating potential and actual client/family problems related to cancer treatment, rehabilitation and terminal care are major milestones of this course. Areas of training include chemotherapy, radiotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, surgery, in-patient wards, ambulatory care settings, and hospice. The practice component offers the opportunity for the student to acquire the roles of educator, expert clinician, consultant and/or coordinator of care. |
