This course enables students to integrate and apply knowledge and skills acquired throughout the occupational therapy program through the study and discussion of contemporary issues and topics in occupational therapy. Students search for, critically appraise, and synthesize scientific evidence to address selected professional and clinical issues. The course includes preparation, presentation, and discussion of topics, cases, or projects relevant to practice, with emphasis on critical thinking, clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, and scientific and professional communication. Contemporary trends, ethical and professional challenges, and the evolving role of occupational therapy within health, rehabilitation, and community systems are also explored. |
