This course introduces the principles of managing and organizing occupational therapy services in healthcare, rehabilitation, educational, and community settings. It addresses service planning, management of human and physical resources, time and caseload management, leadership and teamwork, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. Topics also include quality improvement, client safety, risk management, documentation, policies and procedures, and ongoing service evaluation. Students are introduced to professional, ethical, and legal considerations related to occupational therapy service management, program development, performance and outcome measurement, and change management, preparing them to contribute to safe, effective, and sustainable occupational therapy services. |
