This course examines the relationship between nervous system function, behavior, and human occupational performance, with emphasis on the neural foundations of attention, perception, memory, learning, language, executive functions, emotion, and behavior. It addresses the integration of sensory, motor, and cognitive processes and the effects of neurological dysfunction on behavior and the performance of daily activities and life roles. Emphasis is placed on relating neuroscience knowledge to functional behavior and analyzing cognitive, perceptual, and behavioral manifestations relevant to occupational therapy practice, providing a foundation for assessment, clinical reasoning, and intervention in subsequent professional courses |
