2405031224 Occupational Therapy for Mental Health 1 Practice, Credit Hours: 1
This course addresses the application of the core and advanced concepts and knowledge unique to occupational therapy perspectives and practice in mental health. The practical part of this course covers the methods of occupational therapy assessment and treatment in mental health. During the lab the students will be trained on the skills required to perform assessment using standardized (e.g. LOTCA & BAFPE), and non standardized tools, perform professional interview, individual and group therapy, and strategies and techniques used in mental health occupational therapy area of practice. In addition the students will be trained on basic communication skills required to perform and manage interviews, individual and group therapy.
