The course provides an overview of the occupational therapy profession within the global and local health system, including the origins, history, and philosophy of the occupational therapy profession. The course also covers the professional code of ethics and strategies for dealing with others. In addition to a presentation of the work method and role of the occupational therapist and occupational therapist assistant and the fields of work of each of them. The course also presents the general framework of the occupational therapist’s work, with a focus on the concept of disability and disorder, and participation in various life functions. In addition, the course covers the steps of the occupational therapy process, starting with referral, evaluation and assessment, intervention plan, implementation and re-evaluation, discharge planning, and finally follow up plan. The course also aims to link the practical side with the theoretical side. Finally, the course presents medical terminology related to the profession of occupational therapy practice.
