:
This course aims to enable students to apply the scientific concepts and practical skills acquired in community nutrition and nutrition throughout the life cycle courses within real-world field environments. The training focuses on enhancing students’ ability to assess the nutritional status of individuals and communities and to design nutrition and health education programs that suit the needs of different groups across life stages (children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women, and older adults). Practical training includes students’ participation in field activities within health centers, schools, and community organizations; preparation and implementation of awareness workshops and nutrition-education programs; and collection and analysis of nutritional and health data using nutritional-assessment tools. Students are also trained to write comprehensive professional reports documenting activities, observations, and results, with emphasis on communication, leadership, and teamwork skills in the local community. The internship in community nutrition and nutrition throughout the life cycle is linked to the use of KoboToolbox for data collection and WHO Anthro for assessing nutritional indicators, followed by Excel, SPSS, and Power BI for analysis, report preparation, and presentation of program results. |
