This course addresses occupational therapy assessment and intervention for individuals with physical disabilities resulting from neurological, musculoskeletal, and other health conditions. It emphasizes the impact of motor, sensory, perceptual, and cognitive impairments on activities of daily living, work, leisure, mobility, and participation. Topics include occupational performance analysis, goal setting, daily activity training, activity and environmental modification, positioning and functional mobility, joint protection and energy conservation, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology. Emphasis is placed on restoring or compensating for function and promoting independence, safety, and participation through person-centered, occupation-based, and evidence-informed interventions. |
