This practical course provides advanced application of occupational therapy assessment and intervention for individuals with mental health conditions and complex psychosocial needs. Students integrate information from interviews, observations, and assessment tools to analyze occupational performance, establish priorities and goals, and design and implement person-centered, recovery-oriented, and evidence-informed intervention plans. Practical applications include planning and facilitating individual and group interventions, development of life and social skills, management of habits and routines, vocational rehabilitation, and support for community participation and integration. Emphasis is placed on advanced clinical reasoning, outcome evaluation, documentation, risk management, professional communication, and collaborative practice within mental health teams and services. |
