This course advances occupational therapy practice in mental health, emphasizing assessment and intervention for individuals with more complex mental health conditions and occupational needs across diverse service settings. It addresses advanced strategies to support self-regulation, symptom management, habits and routines, life skills, social participation, education, work, and leisure. Topics include psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery and empowerment, group-based interventions, vocational rehabilitation, community integration and participation, relapse prevention, and health and wellness promotion. Emphasis is placed on evidence-informed intervention planning, outcome measurement, risk considerations, environmental and social factors affecting participation, and collaboration with families, caregivers, interdisciplinary teams, and community services. |
