Course Discription : This practical course provides hands-on application of foundational occupational therapy skills in mental health. Students practice interviewing, systematic observation, occupational history taking, use of appropriate assessment tools, and analysis of the impact of psychological, behavioral, and social factors on occupational performance and participation. Students apply therapeutic communication and relationship skills, activity analysis, person-centered goal setting, and planning and implementation of basic individual and group interventions. Practical experiences emphasize clinical reasoning, documentation, facilitation of therapeutic sessions and groups, professional boundaries, safety, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
