The course includes the definition of decorative arts, their types, sources, elements, structural and geometrical systems (contact, congruence, synergy, and others), the concept of repetition, the relationship of the part to the part and the part to the whole, unity in diversity and diversity in unity. The course alsoconcentrates in the knowledge and skills needed to design innovative (plant, geometric, calligraphic) decorative units inspired by different historical styles. Furthermore, the course focus on the elements and foundations of decorative design, and the skills of color formation (secondary, triple, quadruple, pentagonal) with its use in decorative spaces and patterns using repetitions and color tones to emphasize color concepts in decorative formations. Design and implementation of two-dimensional decorative panels and colored decorative units are also included. Finally, a review of the methods of analyzing the decorative construction and the areas of benefits in the decorative design and its application in the production of modern decorative compositions. |
