This course will introduce students to building with clay. Emphasis will be placed on the design elements; line, shape, texture, and color. Focus will be on the hand building techniques; pinch, coil and slabs. Forming techniques, surface development and glazing, and kiln firing practices will be introduced. Functional as well as sculptural applications will be explored. |
