This course is concerned with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the art education curriculum, its foundations, pillars, elements and types, its relationship to learning, educational objectives and the determinants of the school curriculum (social and cultural change, learner’s characteristics and needs, theories of learning and development, knowledge, social and political philosophy), and its components (objectives, content, teaching strategies, activities,teaching aids, evaluation strategies) and the foundations of building, evaluating and developing modern curricula, and the concept of the manual and the textbook. It also reviews the basics of the art education curriculum, its fields and levels, its evaluation and development, the definition of the educational unit and its contents, how to prepare lessons and artistic activities, and the preparation of course units. and the teaching of this course relies on scientific discussions, collaborative activities, and presentation of lectures, with the aim of providing opportunities for effective thinking and learning. |
