This course introduces students to basic knowledge and skills of clinical aspects of Minor Oral Surgery executed under local anesthesia. The broad topic will include the preoperative management of patients with medical problems of relevance to minor oral surgery, basic surgical principles, the surgical extraction of teeth, the management of difficult extraction, the management of impacted teeth and surgical aids to orthodontics. This course introduces dental student to basic knowledge and skills in exodontias, surgical instruments, different local anesthetic techniques, basic principles of cross infection control, therapeutics, complication managements, and medical communication skills. The clinical part of this course will allow the students to utilize the knowledge obtained from the theoretical part. |
