This course introduces students to basic information in periodontology with emphasis on the anatomy and physiology of the periodontium and the definition, classification, etiology and prevention of periodontal diseases. It provides student with skills of periodontal instrumentation, diagnosis, treatment options and planning and the prognosis of most common forms of periodontal diseases and emergencies. Also provides students with basic concepts in periodontal disease pathology and potential predisposing factors |
