The School Experience Practicum is considered a practical module and envisioned to be an embracing umbrella that integrates the theoretical themes of the two subjects (pedagogy of learning and teaching, and subject didactics) into practical school experience along with the theoretical topics acquired in this module.
This practicum consists of two School Experience Practicums hosted by schools working in partnership with the university.
The length of each SEP is as follows; SEP1 four (4) weeks, and SEP2 six (6) weeks. This provides all student teachers with an opportunity to complete a minimum of 10 weeks of teaching practice during their professional diploma. These practicums include two weeks for assessment purposes against the Teachers’ Standards.
Academic Reading and Writing (AcRW) is not a module but a crucial component of the Pre-Service Teacher Education Program. It aims at developing the academic reading and writing skills through variety of resources, face to face sessions, information sheets, instructional videos, and much more.
