This course covers the topics of scientific research (concepts, foundations, and classifications) in the field special education, elements of the research process within quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches. In addition, this course provides explanations of the process of preparation a research proposal, reviewing existing literature, methods of identifying the research problem, objectives, and research questions. Moreover, It provides ways of selecting the appropriate research methodology, including general research methodology, philosophical standpoints, ethical considerations, conducting the study, methods of analyzing data, presenting the results, discussing and linking findings to the previous literature. Furthermore, it deals with authenticating procedures, as well as methods of citing/referencing and avoiding plagiarism. |
