The course is designed to provide a basic knowledge and understanding to about the nature and needs of different types of physical and sensory disabilities (hearing impairment, visional impairment, and hearing/visual impairment). Throughout this course, learners will be introduced to basic concepts such as diagnosis and unique programs and services provided for these children and their families. Further, this course aims at providing knowledge about early intervention programs designated for these children and their families and methods of collaboration with families, and specialized teaching strategies. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to effectively serve and support children who have unique sensory and physical learning needs. Finally, the course will discuss emerging and modern concepts and issues in educating and serving those children. |
