This course covers the topics of concept, principles, history of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and its emergence from Behavioural Theory. In addition, it explains the theory, strategies, and ethical considerations required to assist in using applied behaviour analysis principles in centres and classrooms of children with disability. Furthermore, it contains practical procedures that will assist students to be able to know how to choose, justify, design, implement, monitor and graphically represent the appropriate behavioural intervention plan for children with disabilities. The course covers topics of designing and implementation of ABA procedures, methods to increase appropriate behaviour, methods to reduce and extinguish inappropriate behaviour, and methods of shaping new behaviors. |
