This course explores the historical and legal development of the field of early childhood special education. Further, the course aims at introducing the principles of early intervention, its concepts, rational, implications, and challenges. Additionally, the course will discuss development in early childhood, risk factors, and targeted at-risk students, in addition to service delivery models. Moreover, the relationship between prevention, early screening, and early intervention is highlighted; the global programs in early intervention quality indicators will be explored, as well as effective communication strategies with families of targeted children in early childhood special education will be discussed throughout this course. |
